Babyation Breast Pump Review

What is the Babyation

This is an all-in-one pump. Everything you need is contained within the pump itself, including flanges, tubing, an ice pack, and four 5oz containers for milk.

Babyation Parts and Features:

Ice Pack:

  • This is a pump, not an insulated cooler bag. Per the manual, the ice pack contained within the pump case must be changed every two hours to keep milk fresh.

Flanges:

  • Flanges are not sized by millimeters like a typical flange. Instead they come in small, medium, and large.

Tubing:

  • Tubing for this pump must be replaced every 24 hours OR if you go more than six hours between pumping sessions. These tubes are proprietary for the Babyation pump, so unfortunately hacking other tubing isn't a good option.

My Opinion:

This is not my favorite pump, I'll be honest. I don't find it to be user-friendly in any way. The most frustrating aspect of this pump, for me, is the way in which the flanges sit in the breast pads. Instead of housing the flange entirely in the pad, there is a pretty significant separation between the flange and breast pad that goes into the bra. (Watch the video for a visual.) This just isn't conducive for a woman's breast issue.
