Mobile cups are a relatively new addition to the pumping world. They are designed for "on the go" pumping, allowing moms to more discretely insert a cup into the bra, without having massive flanges sticking out of her shirt. While the aren't always as effective as a traditional pump, they are great to have on hand when you need to pump in public and want to be a little more discrete. Let's talk about a few mobile cup options on the market today!
GOOD MOBILE CUPS:
1. Freemie (Plastic): This is essentially the OG of mobile cups.
2. Elvie Stride (Plastic): These cups are my ideal design. The cup is well-designed and it features a nice cap that makes it one of the only options on the market today that is truly leakproof. Unfortunately, you can't buy these cups on their own. (I know, annoying.) They only come with the purchase of an Elvie Stride pump.
3. Medela Cup (Plastic): Transparently, these are overpriced. However, the shape of the cup is great, with a nice natural contour to the flange without being too extreme. They are very easy to pour, but like most of the other options, they do have an open top and could leak if you aren't careful.
4. Baby Buddha (Silicone): This mobile cup has a larger capacity, holding more than six ounces of milk at a time.
5. Legendairy Milk (Silicone): Like the Baby Buddha, this mobile cup can also hold a larger volume of breastmilk compared to most other options on the market.
6. Phanpy (Silicone): I love this one! The mobile cups are shallow and fit easily into the bra. I like that we can change the direction of the insertion of the backflow protector. While it isn't leakproof, like the Elvie Stride, the design does cut down on the amount of milk sloshing you'll be dealing with.
NOT MY FAVORITES:
1. Rumble Tuff (Plastic): This cup features an extremely slanted flange that takes in way too much breast tissue. It's difficult to use and respond to. I would not recommend using this mobile cup.
2. Freemie Slims (Plastic): These are terrible. The flange itself is completely flat. It's like having a pancake on your breast. Need I say more?
